Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

Who we are
KLIMAT-P ("we," "us," "the platform") is a seasonal weather probability platform for Poland, operated as a beta research project. The data controller responsible for this website is KLIMAT-P, contactable at contact@klimat-p.website.
What data we collect
KLIMAT-P does not require account creation, and we do not collect payment information. The data we do process is limited to:
- Feedback form submissions — if you use the feedback widget on the dashboard or landing page, we collect the message you write, the feedback type you select, and, only if you choose to provide them, your name and email address. This is sent directly to our inbox to review and, where you've left an email, to reply to you.
- Chat messages — if you use the dashboard's built-in assistant, your questions and the live station/model data relevant to your query are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. We do not store chat conversation history on our own servers beyond the current browser session.
- Language preference — we store your English/Polish language choice in your browser's local storage. This is not a cookie, is not used for tracking, and is never transmitted to us — it only lives on your own device to remember your preference on return visits.
- Standard server logs — like virtually all websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic technical data (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) for security and operational purposes. We do not use this data for tracking or profiling.
What we don't do
- We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties.
- We do not build user profiles or track you across other websites.
Third-party processors
To operate KLIMAT-P, certain data passes through the following service providers, each acting under their own privacy and security practices:
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure for both the dashboard and landing page.
- Supabase — database storage for live station readings and model outputs (this data is meteorological, not personal).
- Anthropic — processes chat and summary requests via the Claude API to generate assistant responses.
- Resend — delivers feedback form submissions to our inbox by email.
- IMGW-PIB, NOAA CPC, Open-Meteo — public weather and climate data sources. We read data from these providers; we do not send them any personal data.
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area (notably the United States). Where this applies, those providers rely on their own appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international data transfers.
Data retention
Feedback emails are retained in our inbox until manually deleted. We do not maintain a persistent chat history database — each chat session exists only in your browser tab and is not saved once you close or refresh the page.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Request access to any personal data we hold about you (in practice, limited to feedback submissions where you provided your name or email).
- Request correction or deletion of that data.
- Object to or restrict our processing of it.
- Lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority — in Poland, this is the Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@klimat-p.website.
Children's privacy
KLIMAT-P is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
2. Terms of Service
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using klimat-p.website or app.klimat-p.website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
What KLIMAT-P is — and isn't
KLIMAT-P is a beta seasonal probability platform. It computes statistical likelihoods for seasonal weather indicators (temperature anomaly, drought risk, heat wave windows, late frost risk, precipitation deficit, river flood risk) based on real observational data, teleconnection indices, and Bayesian modelling, verified weekly against actual outcomes.
KLIMAT-P is explicitly not a short-term or operational weather forecasting service. Its day-ahead forecast feature (where shown) is sourced from Open-Meteo, a third-party provider, and is provided for convenience only — it is not independently verified by us the way our seasonal model is.
No warranty; limitation of liability
KLIMAT-P is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. As a beta product built on probabilistic modelling, outputs may be wrong, incomplete, or unavailable ("Pending") for any given region or indicator.
KLIMAT-P must not be used as the sole basis for decisions involving risk to life, health, or safety. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for any loss, damage, or harm arising from reliance on information provided by the platform, including agricultural, logistical, financial, or operational decisions made using it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the platform's infrastructure or APIs.
- Scrape or systematically extract data from the platform beyond normal personal use, without prior permission.
- Use the feedback or chat features to submit unlawful, abusive, or malicious content.
- Misrepresent KLIMAT-P's outputs as an official government or meteorological institute forecast.
Intellectual property
The KLIMAT-P name, branding, visual design, and underlying model methodology are the property of their creator. Underlying public data (IMGW-PIB, NOAA CPC, Open-Meteo) remains the property of its respective providers and is used here under their open data terms.
Beta status
KLIMAT-P is under active development. Features, indicators, regional coverage, and availability may change, be added, or be removed at any time without notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the platform evolves. Continued use of KLIMAT-P after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
